Luck luck luck luck.... That's all I can say. I'd been looking for rugs all summer and couldn't seem to find a single one until today! Funny how that works. The nice sized rug is for under the ottoman in the living room and the other piece will work as an entry rug. I believe the smaller one to be a handmade piece of a much larger kilim or oriental rug.. but I'm no expert. They were a steal at the market to boot! The larger one cost $30 and the smaller one $10. Not a bad deal at all.. didn't even bother negotiating. On the other hand, I've had absolutely no luck finding items for the shop. Seems like the thrift bug has latched on to more people lately.. but good vintage items come in spurts, so it's only a matter of time. Today, I'll be in the house making homemade mac 'n cheese and waiting for the furniture guys to deliver the dining set and leather ottoman. I should be touching up paint on the walls, but... (I know there are no excuses). Have a good day all!!!

The weekends have been feeling a lot shorter lately. We've been busy muddling about the house putting up curtains, changing the locks on the doors, touching up paint etc. There are so many things I look forward to doing here and it thrills me to think about it...

We're finally settled.. a little.. in our new home and everything is falling into place. The Etsy shop has re-opened! Hurray! We can finally enjoy stocking up on new old goods without having to worry about hauling them across town on a Uhal :-)

Divine images from oaknyc

So, I must apologize for the lack of style inspiration on this blog.. although this space is sort of a mix of everything anyway it's no surprise i'm sure. Window treatments and paint colors are all i've been looking at, but this morning felt like a clothes day, so on with the fashion website perusing. I've really been focused on finding pieces in the used clothing stores rather than buying them new. Of coarse price has a lot to do with it.. but to be honest, i'd rather hunt for things and be completely thrilled when something perfect comes along then forking out the $80 right away. And, who knows if next year you'll be "into" the same thing anyway. Here are some fashion contenders: this $25 ikat/southwestern inspired vintage blouse is so perfect.. kind of wish it was my size, this $65 coat looks so "Pendelton for Opening Ceremony" it's not even funny, and these cute vintage moccasins.

I've been so inspired by interiors lately.. the living room decor in the photo above, the Toast images, the mint of the alarm clock I've been dreaming of. All this cold weather makes you look for comfort inside the home, and while mine is slowly being packed into boxes, I still enjoy being here. I will miss this place.

New vs. Vintage

Yeah.. I can't hardly believe this. Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony animal print sweater at the top and my shop's vintage version. Holy price difference! $370 for Chloe's, $49 for mine.. I had no idea that Chloe was doing something so similar for this season.

Tonight is my sister's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Figured I'd break out my new Lord & Taylor animal print dress for the occasion! Shoes are Aerosoles, belt Steve Madden.
